Interpol’s last album Antics was one of the few records I picked up without knowing anything about them – just seeing the cover art on the shelf at Hastings in Searcy and taking a chance at liking them. Surprisingly, I wasn’t disappointed and had found a unique band with an energy that many acts haven’t been able to equal. While I listened to Antics several times over and even set my clock to catch them perform on SNL, I have to admit I haven’t cared to listen to this one that much. Our Love To Admire is moody and crafted well, but for anyone who’s been listening to them before this, there’s little to catch your attention. Nothing much new is attempted. Still, even Interpol’s least fare is still better than much of the radio swill you’re likely to hear.
